In view of the same, APL will not accept any hazardous cargo shipments, to and from ICD Tuglakabad with effect from 16 May 2017.
You are kindly requested to take note of the notification (attached here), as circulated by CONCOR, and plan your shipments accordingly.
HAPAG LLOYD: ICD Tughlakabad, India – Restriction on Handling of Hazardous Cargo
This refers to Public Notice dated May 16, 2017 of CONCOR (Container Corporation of India Limited) advising the trade that containers carrying hazardous cargo as per IMDG will not be accepted for booking and delivery at ICD Tughlakabad (TKD) with immediate effect.
The notification further states as follows:
- No export loaded container carrying hazardous cargo will be allowed inside ICD TKD.
- In case of import loaded containers carrying hazardous cargo lying at the ports or still on waters destined for Indian ports, shipping lines will not be allowed to book such containers for ICD TKD.
- The containers that are in transit for TKD by train, upon reaching TKD will be shifted to INCML (Kathuwas) / INDRI (Dadri) / INPAP (Panipat) as per the advice of shipping line. The containers booked for TKD lying at INCML will be delivered from INCML itself.
- Those containers already lying at ICD TKD and for which the Bill of Entry is yet to be filed, the CONCOR may shift such containers to Dadri / Kathuwas / Panipat as per the advise of the shipping line.
- If Bill of Entry already filed for containers still lying at ICD TKD, customers are advised to take the delivery of these containers expeditiously.
- Shipping lines are informed not to take bookings of containers carrying hazardous cargo for ICD TKD at the origin.
Accordingly, Hapag-Lloyd will not accept any hazardous cargo destined to ICD TKD with immediate effect. The containers that are booked or on waters will be moved to alternate ICDs as advised above.
