Based on this publication, WTO members shall no longer require the import or export declarations submitted to Customs in original format or copy as an import requirement into Costa Rica. However these requirements will remain for non-WTO exporting members. The resolution also acknowledges that international agreements supersede local laws in the country, subsequently proper modification will be made to the General Customs Law.

This new Resolution will enter into force on September 4, 2017.
