Wan Hai Ship Line Ltd., a Taiwan-based container shipping company, will add Sihanoukville Port to its shipping route next month.
According to the company, from September 21 Wan Hai’s shipping route would start from Shekou in China, to Hong Kong, Bangkok and Laem Chabang in Thailand, and then on to Sihanoukville in Cambodia before returning back to Shekou.
“We welcome the new shipping route because the volume of sea freight to and from Cambodia has increased,” said Lou Kimchoun, director-general of Sihanoukville Port.
Most of the products and goods coming through the port are materials for the garment sector.
